Natural Dyeing with Dee Sayce

A truly wonderful time was had dipping and dyeing yarns and fabrics. Jill, Joy, Jen and Judy enjoyed finding out how to prepare, wet out and mordant yarns as well as the whole dyeing process involved to produce light fast and wash fast colours. If you would like to join us to do some dyeing with plant materials we shall be dyeing again on Sunday 1st June 10am-2pm, £32.  Natural Dyeing Workshop

We have organised a three day summer dyeing course so that you can spend some time foraging for local dye plants and working through the dye process in more depth. Follow the link to find out more.

Machine Embroidered Bowl with Carol Mowl

These delicate bowls are fascinating to make. They develop from a layered mixture of bits and pieces of threads and fabrics into sculptured containers. The process invlolves using vanishing water soluable fabric and free style machine embroidery. Kirsty Allsop called this method the opium for textile artists. We are making more bowls on Saturday 12th July 10am-3pm, £36.

"It was lovely to meet you for my sewing lesson. I would like to say how much I enjoyed it and time just ran away too quickly. It has given me some confidence to try some more flower embroidery," Christine

Felt Flower Brooch with Carol Mowl

What a pefect time of year to make flowers –just when they are all coming into bloom and there seems to be an explosion of colour. A gorgeous boquet of flowers was produced on the workshop and Joan felt inspired to make more. The date for the next workshop is to be arranged.

Seamless Felt Purse with Carol Mowl

What a lovely day full of chat and crafting delights. I was asked to help put in straps into the purses and they turned out rather well as you can see. We made useful and practical purses beautifully designed and colourful too. The date for the next workshop is to be arranged.
