Sow Sew - Flax Production Project

A field of flax was grown in Manchester and the process of linen production was seen through from start to finish. Local artists were asked to use the linen yarn and fabric to produce art pieces and this exhibition is a result of the project. Maggie Holland and I are exhibiting some textile art work related to this proect at MERCi (Manchester Environmental Resource Centre initiative), Bridge 5 Mill, Manchester.

Beetlefelt Summer Workshops

Our programme of summer workshops is well under way. Join in our workshops and enjoy taking time to develop skills in spinning, weaving, felt making and dyeing.

For weaving adventures join the 3-day Weaving Course on Tues 5th, Wed 6th & Thurs 7th August. Designed for you to come along and develop your weaving skills.

3 Day Weaving Course

Students got stuck in to making mosaic plant pots, house numbers and garden plaques. The sun shone all weekend and the tiny chips of tile pieces glistened in the bright light. With Sally’s expert guidance the students produced lots of wonderfully decorated garden objects. Join us for our next weekend of garden mosaic making on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August 10-1pm, £64.

Indigo Tie Dye Workshop with Carol Mowl

We have had a delicious weekend of delightful dyeing treats. Indigo dye has the ability to change from clear luminous yellow through greeniness to deep indigo blue. This is the most magical oxidising dyeing method you will ever see. For more tying and dying adventures book onto the Shibori scarf workshop with natural dyes coming up on 21st September at:
