Taster Day

Taster Day

The workshops have been buzzing over the summer and we have lots of exciting new workshops organised for the New Year. Here is a little taste of the sunny September Taster Day.

Look out for the next event a Beetlefelt Retro Fun Day in March 2015. Can you resist the urge to make macramé hanging baskets, gonks, frog bean bags and Mary Quant leather belts?

Now is a great time to ward off the chill in the air and cuddle up snug and warm with a newly learnt craft. If you have always fancied having a go at spinning, weaving, knitting, rag rugging and patchwork then don’t hesitate and come and have a go.

We are happy to announce that we are running Crochet classes every Friday with new tutor Lisa Henderson, starting on Friday 7th November 7-9pm, £20 for four sessions or £7.50 each.

Natural Dyeing with Carol Mowl

Now is a really good time of year to collect dye plants and store them for future use. Hang up plants to dry and freeze or dry hedgerow berries. We used plants collected from the garden and berries from country walks and had a colourful day dyeing wool and fabrics. It is a real pleasure to forage for free ingredients to dye with.

Find out more at our next Natural Dyeing workshop on Saturday 14th February 2015. Natural Dyeing Workshop

Introduction to Felt Making with Carol Mowl

This is a lovely introduction in to the art of making a piece of felt fabric using sheep fleece and I feel privileged to pass on this magical craft. It is always a real pleasure to share in the discovery of how the fine fibres transform and join together to produce a substantial piece of decorated fabric.

Our next Introduction to Felt Making Workshop is on Sunday 8th February.
